Joelle began her study of music at age 4 years on the piano. She was introduced to the violin at age 9 years, and studied briefly at the Harlem School of the Arts. Joelle graduated from a two-year Music Advancement Program at the Juilliard School of Music, followed by study and graduation from Manhattan School of Music (MSM), where she studied applied violin, theory, ear training, and orchestra. Joelle currently is in her senior year at New York University where she is enrolled in an accelerated BA/MA program. In addition to her formal music studies, Joelle performed with the City Opera’s “Nutshell” orchestra for 4 years. Joelle enjoyed two years in chamber ensemble at the New York Youth Orchestra, and four years in the New York Inter School Orchestra (ISO), where she also served as a coach in two junior orchestras, and music tutor for two beginner violin students.

Joelle founded a classical string trio with her two siblings. JoSunJari debuted in summer 2007 and has since enjoyed delighting audiences at numerous scheduled venues. JoSunJari was invited to join a host of young performers for a special feature at the world famous Apollo Theatre, and was invited back as guest performer on the "Amateur Night at the Apollo!", and as featured artists at the Apollo's 2008 Annual Spring Benefit honoring Smokey Robinson and Denzel Washington. JoSunJari served as featured artist at an annual international Cari-Com conference, and opened events at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and other venues during the centennial celebration of the NAACP.

JoSunJari served as featured artist in an opera/drama/visual arts event, “Save the Bees” (proceeds from which were contributed to the American Beekeeping Federation). JoSunJari performed at Medgar Evers annual “Celebration of Life” and received a citation issued by Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz, naming December 5, 2009 “JoSunJari Day”. JoSunJari was commended by Mayor Michael Bloomberg for their performance at Gracie Mansion for the mayor’s commemoration of World Aids Day 2011. Catch JoSunJari in the New York Times.
Joelle is a co-founder of Aziza & the Cure, a symphonic soul pop duo. Aziza & the Cure is presently recording their debut album.

Joelle graduates from New York University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance in May 2013.
