꺼지지 않는 촛불의 생명력 but enduring persistence
얼른 두 손이 모아지니 as you gather two hands around
다시 밝아지네 It brightens again
좋다 좋다 환하니 좋다 good, good, bright is good
나를 태우니 내 주변이 환하구나 burning the self, brightens the world around
순간 그림자가 너울거리네...너울...너울 the shadow dances
벽에 비친 내 모습 더 크게 보이니 on the wall magnified
마음에 품은 내 뜻도 크게 비춰 보이네 your desire in heart magnifies too
작은 불씨가 사방으로 이어지니 a small flicker lasts
천지가 환해지고 to brighten the whole world
꺼질 것 같은 불씨는 활활 타올라 a small flicker lasts
마음의 등불되어, to become a guiding light
마음의 소망되어, to the hearts that desire
우리들의 염원을 담아 보네 desire for our freedom
그 소망이 자유라
두 손 모아 감싸 꺼지지 않는 촛불이여 put your hands around the candle
영원히 간직되는 생명의 불씨라 guard the lasting light of life
밤낮을 가리지 않는 자유의 촛불이 될 지어다 May it be the light of freedom
자유와 평등, 영혼을 불사르는 촛불 dream of freedom and equality
꿈, 꿈을 이루어내는 큰 그림자 되었네 takes the shadow of self burning sacrifice
밝고, 환한 촛불이여 bright candle light
우리를 밝히는 불씨 되어 May it brighten our sprits
영혼을 지피는 꿈의 촛불이 될 지어다. May it sustain our dream
