Trinity Episcopal Church Chancel Choir to perform Gabriel Fauré's 'Requiem' on Good Friday, March 29, 7.p.m.
The Chancel Choir of Trinity Episcopal Church, Washington, D. C. will present a Good Friday performance of the 'Requiem' by Gabriel Fauré on Friday, March 29 at 7 p.m. Guest soloists will be soprano Angeli Ferette and baritone David Charles Griffiths. Guest singers from Nineteenth Street Baptist Church will join the Trinity Choir, along with guest singers from the community.
This concert is being performed in thanksgiving and loving memory of Trinity members who have since died. They include: Lois G. Arrindell, Gladys Dunlop Carpent, Charles DeBoe, Rachel Greene, Joyce Frances Gitten, Elena Maloney, Ruby C. Marshall, Adele McQueen, Gail Miller, Anna Weade Morgan-Walker, Martha Motely, Mignon Davis Mundy, Joyce E. Murray, William Raspberry, Lauretta Burrell Newport, Mary Frances Reher,Vivian Carol Robinson, Louis Sharpe and Henry Taylor.
Acompanying the choir will be a chamber orchestra with guest organist Edmond Charles conducted by Acting Music Director Patrick D. McCoy. Good Friday has traditionally provided The Chancel Choir the opportunity to present a special concert in the spirit of Holy Week, with past performances of Dubois' "The Seven Last Words of Christ" and Stainer's "The Crucifixion." Ending the performance of this year's presentation of the 'Requiem' will conclude with 'A Portrait of Christ' with vignettes of The Crucifixion.
To offset the expenses of this concert and to further support the music ministry of Trinity Church, patrons are welcomed at the following levels:
Seraphim-$100.00 and above, Throne of Angels -$76.00-99.00, Heavenly Hosts-$51.00-75.00, Archangels-$26.00-50.00, Angels-$11.00-25.00 and Friends of Music-$1.00-10.00.

Composed between 1887 and 1890, the 'Requiem' is the best known of Fauré's larger works.
